What happens in wet weather?

We rarely cancel, except in extreme weather or when the council has closed the ground. Updates are communicated via Team App. Please ensure you have joined and have notifications turned on.

What is expected of parents?

Parramatta City Athletics is a community-run club and relies on parent involvement each week.

Parents assist with duties such as event support, timekeeping, starting, age group assistance, canteen, BBQ, set-up and pack-up. Guidance is provided and no experience is required.

A parent or guardian must remain at the venue during competition.

What is an Age Manager?

An Age Manager is a volunteer (usually a parent) who guides their age group through the evening's events.

They provide basic instruction and support other helpers. Age Managers are not paid coaches.

Does competition run during school holidays?

Competition continues through the October school holidays. A scheduled break of approximately 4–5 weeks occurs over Christmas and New Year.

What if I arrive late or need to leave early?

If arriving late, locate your athlete’s age group and notify the Age Manager before joining.

If leaving early, please inform the Age Manager before departing.

What if we cannot attend a Friday competition?

No notification is required. We understand families have other commitments and look forward to seeing you the following week.

What additional competitions are available?

Depending on age group and membership type, athletes may be eligible to compete in Zone, Regional, State and National events.

See our Competitions page or visit the NSW Athletics website for further information.
